HASP SRM Run-time GUI Installer: Readme
The list below includes new HASP SRM Run-time features, improvements,
issues addressed, and other relevant information.
Note:
- The installer detects the version of the operating system at run-time, before
installing the relevant drivers.
Upgrade Note
When upgrading the HASP SRM Run-time Environment Installer, ensure that it is not currently being used by any Run-time components. Although the installation program terminates applications that are
accessing the Run-time, it does not terminate running services. For
example, if the HASP License Manager is running as a service, you must
stop the service before upgrading the Run-time Environment Installer.
Version 5.30 (September 2007)
Supported Platforms
Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows XP x64, Windows Server 2003 x64, Windows Vista, Windows Vista x64
and Windows 98SE and Windows ME (for backward compatibility only)
Enhancements
- HASP SRM Admin Control Center includes a new Diagnostics option that provides the ability to view and extract operating information for the HASP License Manager to which a user is currently logged in, to assist in diagnosing problems. Reports can also be generated for technical support in plain text, HTML, or XML formats.
Note:
By default, the Vista operating system displays a User Account Control message during driver installation. The user must click Continue to continue the installation. Alternatively, the user can change the default setting from the Control Panel of their Vista operating system.
Limitations
- Drivers installed using Windows Update do not enable DataHASP and overlay functionality for HASP HL Envelope-protected applications on Windows x64 operating systems.
Known Issues
- Ref #8033: If you attempt to update the HASP SRM Run-time on a machine running Vista x64, and your protected application uses DataHASP, ensure that the protected application is not running and restart the machine before running the update.
